So… you've reached a point in your business journey where rebranding became a necessity. Maybe your target audience has shifted, you've struggled to stand out in your industry, or your business is refining its messaging… whatever the reason, a new brand identity was needed to better suit your brand. Now that you've rebranded and you're absolutely loving everything, you already feel much more confident with your strategy and brand visuals and are ready to take the next step… launching it. This might be the most daunting part of the entire rebranding process, and you're probably unsure where to start or how to proceed. It can be even more nerve-wracking if you've also changed your brand name, not to mention the challenge of reintroducing your new identity without losing touch with your existing audience.
In this article, we'll break down some helpful tips that we've shared with our clients in the past, as well as tips we implemented ourselves when we rebranded in 2022! For those who've been with us for a while, you know that before becoming Reise Studio, we were LB Design (super original and imaginative... I know).
THE SOCIAL MEDIA ANNOUNCEMENT.
The social media announcement of your rebrand is arguably the most critical part of the rebranding process. To make the most of all the hard work, time, and money invested in your rebrand, creating a buzz to maximise engagement is essential.
Start by intriguing your audience with small hints here and there. We recommend to our clients that they allow at least a month to prepare for their rebrand, giving them sufficient time to build up engagement for the big reveal. Abrupt changes can confuse your followers, so to avoid this, you can create preview posts, share teasers on your stories, and post countdowns – all to build anticipation for what's to come. Ride on people's FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out)! Countdowns are an excellent way to get inside your audience's heads, and they'll be returning to your profile regularly out of sheer curiosity for what's ahead.
PREPPING FOR THE LAUNCH DAY.
You only get one shot at your relaunch post, so MAKE IT COUNT! Ensure that your new display name, domains, caption lengths, media sizes, etc., all align with where you plan to share it. We recommend using a social media publishing tool to ensure that all your captions, media, and links are fully optimised and ready for launch.
Not everyone uses social media, so consider this when launching your rebrand on other platforms too. You can ensure your non-social audience are catered for by sending out an email newsletter to announce the change, arranging a press release, or even collaborating with other brands.
Now that you've launched and the weight has lifted, we always suggest keeping the momentum going for a few days. During this time, you can share content such as your rebrand story, your updated mission statement and values, introduce your new website, or any other rebranded elements you have to share.
Monitor engagement and interactions to see what your audience is enjoying the most, and MOST IMPORTANTLY... be confident and savour the moment! You have a fantastic new brand face, so SHOW IT! Be confident, shout about it – you have even more exciting growth to come, so revel in your success!
